Arriving to Hungary

If you are coming to Hungary from abroad, the best way is to fly to Budapest Airport (Liszt Ferenc Airport).
After that you could rent a car or take public transport.

Traveling by car

- Drive on the right side of the road
- Don't drink and drive - there's zero tolerance for alcohol!
- Right hand rule applies - if there's no other sign the vehicle coming from your right has the right of way
- Speed is measured in kilometres per hour
- The speed limit in residential areas is 50 km/h, outside residential areas 90 km/h on the highways 130 km/h
- Traffic lights:

              red - no go
red and orange - still no go, but get ready to go
              green - let's go!
orange - if safe, slow down and stop. if you cannot stop safely, go through ASAP.

Green light for turning cars while pedestrians crossing

When the light is green for turning cars, check out if there is a crosswalk! Normally lights on crosswalk are green at the same time as  for the cars turning onto the road they cross. Pedestrians always have the right of way in this case!

Also when walking and crossing the roads, do not be frightened that the cars are turning on the road as you are crossing. They must give you the right of way.

Also if there are no lights at the crosswalk, pedestrians have the right of way.

Traveling by public transport

At the airport you want to take the 100E bus and get off at Ferihegy vasútállomás station. (~ 1 €  for an adult single ticket)

Take a train to Budapest Nyugati pályaudvar (there are several different ones going there). (~ 1-2,5 € for an adult single ticket depending on which train you're taking, in general S50 and Z50 are the cheapest and the Intercity is the most expensive.)

Then take the  S72 or G72 train to Dorog. (~ 2,5 € for an adult single ticket)

Dorog is 5 mins away from our reception venue by car, so we can send someone to pick you up.

Budapest travelcard

If you are planning on visiting Budapest and going sightseeing, I recommend you getting a 24 hour Budapest-travelcard (~ 6 €) or 5/30 BKK travelcard (~ 11 €) depending on how long you are planning to stay.

With these cards you can travel on any bus/tram/metro (underground)/train ect. within Budapest unlimited times in the given time segment (1 x 24 hours or 5 x 24 hours).

For example, Ferihegy-Budapest Nyugati train would be included in this one, and also part of the Budapest Nyugati-Dorog trainline so that ticket would be  ~ 1 € cheaper.
